The Four AmiGohs

News and updates from the Goh family!

Finally after teething on and off for a few months, Cadence’s bottom tooth has decided to pop out. This took place during the Easter long weekend and it explains why she has been a ‘grumpy bum’ and losing interest in food. She is still a little irritable this week because her gums seem to be causing her some discomfort. Sometimes she wakes up crying and rubbing her gums in pain. Poor baby girl.

Nevertheless, breastfeeding is going to be interesting from now on. I have to pay attention and watch out for those sharp teeth!

Just uploaded a bunch of photos of Cadence. These are her month 7 and month 8 ones. Click HERE to get to them.

Cadence is on another development roll. At 8 & 1/2 months she can clap and usually does so with a big, wide grin :) I think she has learned to do this because we like to sing ‘Everybody clapping, clapping’ to her. She gets very excited and laughs out loud when Linden and I clap very fast. She likes to clap during mealtime, when she’s trying to fall asleep in the cot and when she hears music. She just likes to clap randomly because it’s something new that she can do.

The other thing she can do, which is my personal favourite is say ‘mama’. It sounds so sweet. She is such a clever little girl. Most of the time when I pick her up, she likes to pat my chest and say ‘mama’. So I’m definitely sure she is referring to me and not indicating she is hungry.

She can now crawl properly as well. So it’s been a very busy fortnight. I wonder what she will do next? I think Ivan is eagerly waiting to hear her say ‘dada’.

In the last month Cadence has been very busy. She has undergone a lot of baby development. From about 6 months, she started to crawl; commando style. She likes to crawl around the apartment exploring and ‘chase’ after Linden.

Recently (at about 7 months) she started to sit up and at the same time pull herself up. That’s 2 milestones in 1 month, what a big achievement. My baby girl is growing up so fast.

Now that Cadence is more mobile. I get Linden to keep an eye out for her when they’re playing together. He likes to tell me (dob on Cadence) if she is doing something that she shouldn’t do. He does a good job looking after her, however I think he likes to boss her around more :)

Cadence is now 6 months old. She loves to roll around the playmat and reaches for toys so she can play with them. It looks like she might be learning to crawl because she has been lifting her bum and squirming forward. Also her progress with solids is going well. She’s not quiet having 3 meals a day yet but at least she is showing more interest.

As for the little man he is cheeky as ever. He talks non stop and likes to negotiate with us. It’s a constant battle between Mummy/Daddy versus Linden. Recently he likes to sing. He likes to do this especially during his nap and bedtime. Such a cutie. I guess he’s now old enough to sing himself to sleep and has taken over our role ;)

Check out Linden’s month 35 and 36 photos HERE.

Linden turned 3 on Friday the 13th of January! Nothing unlucky happened fortunately and we held a mini-celebration with a cupcake and candles to mark the occasion. This was just the prelude to the full blown birthday party the next day. We held it at a local park with a bunch of his friends. The weather threatened to be wet but luckily there wasn’t any rain.

In usual fashion he was a little timid to start but once we got into the festivities, it was on for young and old. There was slides, swings, running around, cycling, lollies, pizza, cake and presents! He got some awesome presents (some of which his Daddy will play for him by proxy). At the end of the party, we all packed up, went home and everyone crashed for a well-deserved nap. Best 3rd birthday ever.

Photos are HERE. Note that the latest batch of pictures are now located in the “Kid’s Pics 2012” album.

A bunch of new pictures are up! Cadence has a gallery for her 4th and 5th month which brings us to about mid December. Linden also has a block of two months  – 33rd and 34th month – but that takes his to mid November. Click the hyperlinks against the month numbers in the previous sentences to get to them.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!

Cadence is now 5 months old, so it’s time to introduce her to some solids. She had her first taste of some baby rice cereal today. And as expected she scrunched her face and spat most of it out. Surprise? not really but at least I got a good photo of her. She also tried some water as well but I think the cup was more interesting. Round 2 tomorrow, better luck maybe :)

Cadence hit another milestone recently – she rolled over! And it all happened on a very auspicious day, 11/11/11! She started with a roll to her left to land on her tummy. Then later was spotted rolling to her right. We can’t leave her unattended on the change table or on the bed anymore as she can roll off.

In other news she has also become rather smiley and is doing lots of laughing as well over the last few weeks (possibly further back than that). And she looks absolutely gorgeous doing it.

The flipside is that she has been crying a little more during bedtimes. I remember when Linden was probably close to her age and for a period, he started getting cranky and crying around the 9pm-10pm window and was inconsolable. I hope Cadence doesn’t go down the same path!

Cadence has just hit 3 months old and I’m don with the batch of photos for month 3. Click HERE to cop a squiz.

She really is a little tubber in relative terms (i.e. compared with Linden) and is lots of fun to squeeze :)   Enjoy!
