So I’ve finally figured out how to get the video of Linden converted and uploaded onto The Three AmiGohs. If you have problems seeing the video below

In this video, Linden babbles away and does one of his infamous rolls that he uses to hide himself from Mummy and Daddy when we leave him alone on the playmat for a few minutes.
The file is rather large (~12MB) so you’ll have to be patient downloading it. Hopefully you have the appropriate video codec (Xvid) to play it as well.
Anyway if there’s a problem, post a comment and I’ll see what I can do. Enjoy!

I took Linden to see his every first movie today, well technically speaking I went and he was dragged along
We went along to the ‘Babes in Arms’ session at Greater Union Macquarie to see Star Trek. Every Wednesday there is a special screening for parents with young children. They can watch the latest movies without feeling uncomfortable when their baby cries or decides to throw a tantrum.
There was less than 20 people (excluding the little ones) in the cinema so everyone was spread out. I actually managed to enjoy the movie with little interruption from Linden. He was awake for the previews and slept through most of the movie only waking up briefly for a feed. As expected there was some crying but it was mostly muffled by the speaker so you can still hear the dialogue. Not too bad overall.
So what does Linden think of the movie? Excellent of course! He got to sleep in Mummy’s arms, had some delicious & nutritous milk (instead of pop corn). It was fun! He has also become a big Trekkie fan. Beam me up Scotty
We’ve had the schedule in place for about 2 weeks now and I’m happy to say that it’s working. I hope I haven’t jinx it by putting up this post. He has been taking longer naps during the day, somewhere between 1 – 2 hours and settling much better at night.
I’ve had no dramas putting him to bed during the last week. I can now put him into the cot without any crying or protesting, he is very co-operative and seem to understand that it’s ‘time for bed’ (I say this as I carry him to the bedroom). I usually sit next to the cot and pat him for a few minutes whilst he whinges or babbles to himself. He has a habit of lying on his right side, likes to smile, play with his saliva and babbling to the ‘invisible man’, eventually after about 15 – 30 minutes he drifts off to la la land. It’s incredible how things have turned around. The neighbours can now sleep in peace!
Last night he fell asleep within 5 minutes (record time), it was amazing. Keep up the good work Linden
It will be over to Ivan to put him to sleep again. I can relax in front of the TV with my cup of tea and biscuit and watch Masterchef
Linden officially turned 4 months old on Tuesday of this week just gone by. I’ve been somewhat remiss, having not taken very many photos and consequently not posting them here at The Three Amigohs. However I’ve squeezed out a little effort from my very lazy body and have put up another album with Linden’s month 4 pictures!

We’ve adapted the EASY (Eat, Activity, Sleep, You-time) concept from some book I found at the library… I mean from Borders bookstore. What we ended up with is a spreadsheet by which we can try to keep Linden to a daily routine. It has space for notes and actual times so that we can see if he’s moving to a longer cycle (currently about 3 hrs) or if he’s got enough sleep during the day.
Initially we had intended this mainly as a sleep chart to make sure Linden gets enough rest during the day so he’s not overtired and aggro in the evening before bedtime. We also had some other charts for feeding so I’ve combined it all into one ultra-mega-wicked-spreadsheet. I also find it useful when I come home after work to get up to speed on what Linden’s been up to during the day.

This is a retrospective post but still important to record. On Mother’s Day this year, Linden and I woke up early to do something special for Mummy-Monica. The plan was simple: cook up some delicious French toast!
Linden hopped into the Baby Bjorn baby carrier and strapped me in, behind him. He then ordered me around the kitchen preparing eggwash & pumpkin bread, all the while peering at the cooking with a scrutinising eye. The French toast ended up being perfect under Master Chef Linden’s guidance.
Mummy-Monica enjoyed a delicious Mother’s Day breakfast prepared by her 4 month old – what a story!
I took Linden to the vaccination clinic to get his 4 month jab yesterday. As usual there were millions of other mums & bubs there. After waiting for an hour or more it was finally our turn. Linden reacted well to the needles and let out a very brief cry, it was all over very quickly. He didn’t get a fever this time around but appears a bit tired instead.
The good thing about going to the clinic is that there are 2 nurses giving the injections simultaneously (1 on each thighs), so ‘baby ‘ feels less pain. I think it’s actually more stressful for the parents to watch their babies getting the injection.
The next vaccination is due at 6 months.
