Finally posted some videos of Linden through Facebook. Find them below…

As usual, I’ve run late on the photos. It’s just been a rather hectic February!

It seems we’ve taken much fewer photos of Linden after he turned ONE. However he was sick with what appears to be staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome. As a result we didn’t post a bunch of photos showing Linden in a rather horrible looking state. I prefer to remember him as a leng-jai at this age!

Anyway photos are HERE.

Toddling along

And we have lift off! Linden has been pushing his toy car around for a few months now which classifies him as upright and mobile. Recently though, he has started standing up on his own, and in the last couple of weeks, started to toddle along!

He can now walk unassisted for a few metres, usually accompanied by some falling over, stumbling and arm waving. It’s quite funny to watch because he looks like a little drunken man waltzing from here to there.

I’ll update this post with a few pictures and maybe even some video! Apologies for the late pictures, I’ve been having a bit of a hectic time lately with work, swimming and Linden having nightmares that wake all of us up at night (more on that in another post).

I took Linden to get his 12 month jab last Thursday. The poor baby was given 3 injections simultaneously, OOCH!  One on each arm and one on the left leg. It was by far the most painful experience for him because he cried for about a minute or so afterward. However he really enjoyed eating the tiny teddy biscuit and was back to normal pretty quickly. He didn’t get any reactions within the next 24 hours however there is a high probability that he might get a rash 5 -12 days following the MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) injection. Finger crossed he will bypass these side effects.

The next jab is due at 18 months, definitely not an event to look forward to.

During our holiday in Perth Linden started to clap his hands, nod his head and open & close his hand. I think he was going through a growth spurt.

He seems very proud of himself to be able to do these new ‘tricks’.  He would randomly clap his hand, nod and open & close his hands during nappy change time, before going to sleep and even on demand. After all those months of listening to me singing songs such as; ‘If your happy and you know it clap your hands’ and ‘Everybody clapping, clapping, clapping’ and ‘Open, shut them’ he has finally caught on to the hand action. What an achievement! And it’s all caught on video. I’m sure he will enjoy watching this when he is 18 and be really embarrassed about it.

I enrolled Linden into Building Blocks – Fun Classes for Little People for this term (Feb – Mar 10) and today was the first class. During each class, the ‘little people’ learn through music, movement, art & craft, story telling and play but most of all have lots of fun.

Linden had a great time today. He was a little bit shy at the beginning but soon he was enjoying the singing and playing with all the toys. He also created his very first piece of art & craft (a paper butterfly) and painted it too. Watch out Van Gogh (haha, get it) :P

Kiss, kiss

I was putting Linden to bed last night and after a while it was clear that he was not ready to sleep yet (he is still adjusting to the time difference between Perth & Sydney) so we played. At one point I asked him to give mummy a ‘kiss, kiss’ and to my surprise he actually gave me one. My very first kiss. So I asked for more, just in case the first one was a fluke but it wasn’t and he kept kissing me. I was so happy, I giggled like a school girl. He also gave Daddy a kiss too. It was just so adorable and funny to watch because he opens his mouth wide, rocks his head back and then bang he plants it on your face (just picture him giving a great big nod). It’s absolutely hilarious :D

So what does Linden’s kiss feel like? Well it’s wet, sloppy and there is drool all over my face and I LOVE it!
